Last year, the image of Syrian boy Alan Kurdi lying face-down on the beach made global headlines, and in the process touched the hearts many.
It had been a glaring reminder of the many horrors war brings to the innocent and those who want no part in it.
Now a new image of a dazed and bloodied boy reminds us all over again that there is still a war ranging in Syria, a war that isn’t showing signs of stopping anytime soon and continues to ruin the lives of innocent people.
A Telegraph reporter Raf Sanchez shared the boy’s image on his Twitter account, an image taken from a video released on the Aleppo Media Center’s YouTube channel.
According to a Telegraph report, the boy’s name is Omran Daqneesh. In the photo, he isn’t crying. He just sits in silence inside an ambulance, and he appears to be stupefied.
“The little Syrian boy was one of five children injured by a Russian or Assad regime strike in the Qaterji neighbourhood of Aleppo,” the report said.

“His photograph, which was shared thousands of times on social media, captures just a fragment of the horrors of Aleppo as it endures wave after wave of punishing airstrikes.”
Omran was taken to the M10 hospital, which reports say was also struck by repeated airstrikes.
The doctors at the hospital cleaned Omran up and attended to his wounds. The boy was then released later that night.
Doctors at the m10 hospital said that around 12 children under the age of 15 were treated that day.
“While the city has been under bombardment for years, the attacks have stepped up since a combined force of rebels and jihadists earlier this month broke a regime siege that cut off part of the city for a month,” the same report also said.
It has been estimated that more than 300,000 Syrians have been killed in the country’s civil war.
