In her caption,

“Mirror selfies now vs then. Kaia is shook- who is that lady in pink??

Been getting messages and tags all day reminding me that 4 years today I got to stand on the Miss Universe stage wearing the Philippines sash (wow, time flies)

Things didn’t go as planned for us then but now as I hold my baby in my arms and have taken on another great challenge & have been given the greatest honour of being this girls mum, I’ve never been so sure that everything happens for a reason.

I’ve been reading your messages and stories throughout the day and I just wanted to send love and gratitude to all the people who motivated and held me up in 2017 and still continue to make their presence felt today- you guys are the best!!!! My heart was SO full then and still is now. Love you guys.”

Also in her Instagram post, she shared how thankful she is for all of the sweet messages she gets from her supporters throughout the years.

“Things didn’t go as planned then but now as I hold my baby in my arms and have taken on another great challenge, and have been given the greatest honor to be this girl’s mum, I have never been so sure that everything happens for a reason,” she said.

Besides, according to Rachel, getting pregnant was not an easy journey for her and Migz. In an interview with ABS-CBN, Rachel said that she had to go through “months of blood tests, trips to the doctor, and different treatments to balance out her [my] hormones to even be able to begin trying for a baby.”

Although her pregnancy wasn’t always a sunny day, Rachel shares how she is grateful for being blessed with Kaia Rose, especially during this trying time.

Rachel is of Filipino-British descent who represented Camarines Sur in the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 pageant. She entered Bb Pilipinas 2017 because she believed it was her ‘final chance’ at the age of 25.

To compete in Binibining Pilipinas, contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 26 at the time of the pageant.

Rachel gave it her all on coronation night, winning several special awards aside from having the honor of representing the country in the Miss Universe 2017 competition.

Crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2017, she finished in the Top 10. She also competed in the Miss World Philippines 2014 pageant before entering Binibining Pilipinas, where she finished as the fourth princess.

According to her mom, Annie, Rachel never expressed any interest in competing in beauty pageants when she was young.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Annie said that she would often dress Rachel as a sporty girl. Rachel was never adorned with “frills and flowers and ribbons”. She also thinks Rachel never dreamt of becoming a beauty queen.

She writes,

“Took an hour to myself this morning to pump, clean some bottles, caught some rays while having a coffee, worked out, checked my messages, spent time with Migz, and even had a full shabang shower. Then it took me two hours to post this because Kaia literally won’t nap for more than 10 minutes on her own/”

Rachel Peters begins her fitness adventure over a month after giving birth.

A month after giving birth, Rachel is looking forward to getting back into shape as she posted her first workout postpartum. She talks about this in a throwback photo she posted on her Instagram.

Rachel shares how amazed she was at how her body grew and made a beautiful human inside her. As she enters her fitness journey post-birth, she looks forward not just to have her body back but also in re-living moments she momentarily lost while she was pregnant. As she quotes, “to lay on my stomach, eat prosciutto, to surf, do jumping jacks and to fit into my clothes again!!”

Not all mommas are the same though! Some have stretch marks, some don’t. Other moms have dark patches, some don’t. Some moms instantly lose weight or get rid of their belly pouch, some don’t. You are beautiful! Whatever shape or form your body is after giving birth, you are allowed to feel anything you want to feel.
