A school director from a private school in Davao City allegedly shamed and hurt students in her school. A Grade 9 and a Grade 10 student have both filed complaints against the director for her actions.
The school director allegedly hurt students
A female Grade 9 student has filed a complaint with the DepEd in Davao City after she was reported to have been shamed by their school director.
The student said that Rosalina Evora, the school director, shouted at her and even threw a piece of cloth at her. The student said that the director got angry at her because the wrong cloth was used in a Math and Science fair exhibit, and also because of a broken computer monitor.
The incident was caught on video by another student in the school.
Another complaint was filed by a male Grade 10 student who said that he was hurt by the director. He said that he was choked and hit by the director using his ID lanyard.
The school director defends her actions
In her defense, the school director said that the reason she shouted at the female student was that she got angry at her. She adds that the male student wasn’t even part of the class.
She also went on to say that the male student was playing around and accidentally kicked the monitor. She added that he started saying bad words, so he went up to him and grabbed his collar. She told the student, “We don’t teach our kids that. You don’t represent the school.”
She added that the student started to flail around, so she grabbed his ID and used it to protect herself, not hit the student.
The director also said that she had worked with the Department of Education in the US before, and this was the first time that she has encountered students like this.
Despite her explanation, the children’s parents still want to file a complaint against the school director.
