Pork Sinigang is delicious and easy to prepare. Here’s a classic recipe from the chef and social media influencer Vanjo Merano of Panlasang Pinoy :
- Heat cooking oil in a cooking pot.
- Saute the onion until it gets soft
- Once the onion gets soft, add the sliced pork.
- Add some fish sauce and continue to cook until the pork turns light brown.
- Then add water. You may also opt to add beef broth if you want your sinigang to be flavorful.
- Add the tomato and gabi after letting the water boil. While the gabi needs to boil for a longer period of time to start releasing starch that will thicken the soup, the tomato needs to be cooked until it blends in with the broth.
- Add the sinigang mix once meat is tender.
- Mix some long green chili, if desired.
- Add the rest of the vegetables towards the last few minutes.
