Leonard Nimoy's letter was originally published in the
1968 issue of teen magazine, Fave.
A young girl asked for advice on how to make friends because she's a mixed-race girl. She wrote:
"My mother is Negro and my father is white and I am told this makes me a half-breed... The Negroes don't like me because I don't look like them. The white kids don't like me because I don't exactly look like one of them either. I guess I'll never have any friends."
Moved by her letter, Nimoy himself penned a response. Click next to read the highlights of his letter and be deeply touched by the heartfelt advice.
RIP, Leonard Nimoy. Live long and prosper.
