Being a good father will never be considered easy. Fatherhood requires the strength and commitment to challenge yourself to be the best dad you can be each and every day.

While we love patting each and every hard working dad on the back this time of year, it goes without saying that there are those whose struggle to provide for their family involve far more severe circumstances than our own. These are the fathers that cannot afford to be overlooked this Father’s Day.

The following images were originally shared by The Huffington Post. Photographers captured the day in and day out life-threatening odds these bold Syrian fathers must face in order to keep their families safe.

As war and instability rob these children and their father’s of a place to call home, they traverse across the continent in order to find shelter. Their struggles are awe-inspiring, and their incredible journeys as refugees will never be forgotten.

Though faced with daunting, overwhelming adversity, these fathers put it all on the line to keep their families alive. They are the true model of the courage needed to be a father. In honor of Father’s Day, we encourage you to take a look at these remarkable photographs.
