Top tips for getting married on a tight budget
Let's face it, getting married can be rather expensive. But with these wise tips, we're sure you can have the most memorable day of your life on a budget!
Getting married can get pretty expensive. Especially here in the Philippines where weddings are a huge family affair. So here are some helpful tips to prepare for that special day without burning a hole in your wallet!
1. Look for discount packages
In most cases, it can be more expensive if you source everything that you need for your wedding separately. Some caterers offer packages that include flower arrangements which can not only reduce the cost of your wedding, but having your caterer also do the decorations makes it easier to coordinate since you'll be talking to just one person.
2. Do some of it yourself!
It might take some effort on your part, but if you, your friends, or your relatives can do some of the things you need such as the decorations, the invitations, etc., it would be a significant reduction in the cost of your wedding.
Of course, you have to ask them first if it would be okay for them to help you out with the preparations, and don't forget to give them a thank you note, or a small gift for their help!
3. You can buy a beautiful dress off the rack, and for cheap!
It takes some hunting, but there are some relatively cheap, but beautiful wedding dresses that you can buy off the rack.
It also helps if you already have an idea of what you want your dress to look like, so that you'd have an easier time narrowing down the exact dress that you want to wear on your wedding.
4. Keep it small
'Small' weddings are almost nonexistent here in the Philippines since marriages are always a large family gathering. However, there's nothing wrong with keeping it small and intimate so that you can save some money. After all, it is you and your partner's special day, and it's up to you to decide who you want to celebrate it with.
5. Plan ahead
Simply planning ahead for your wedding can actually save you a lot of money! Planning ahead means that you'll already be prepared for any expenses that you might have.
Planning ahead also helps you look for any discounts and lets you compare and contrast the costs of different suppliers and look for good offers or sales.
Plus, it also helps save you the trouble of any sudden, unexpected expense since by planning ahead, you'll have everything accounted for.
