Zsa Zsa Padilla seeks comfort from her friend of 20 years, Kris Aquino, after her breakup with now ex-fiancé Conrad Onglao.

“Zsa Zsa Padilla came by to visit… We’ve been friends for 20 years. We [heart] her. I hold dear to my heart the saying “Friends are the family we got to choose for ourselves,” Kris captioned the photo.

News of the breakup surfaced this week, and was confirmed by Karylle, Zsa Zsa’s daughter, on Tuesday. Karylle revealed that the engagement is indeed off, having been called off by Zsa Zsa less than two weeks ago.
Zsa Zsa and Onglao got engaged in August last year after a two-year relationship.

In a statement released through her talent manager, Zsa Zsa simply said, “It didn’t work out.” Details of the statement were reported by Nerissa Almo of PEP.ph. Here are the highlights:
Karylle asked the public to respect her mother’s privacy as she heals from the heartache.
“Siyempre ang hirap, di ko maimagine ang – ‘yun na nga diba, kanina pinag-usapan natin [ang] bashers, so madaming sumasali sa kwento mo, ng buhay mo. Maganda siya in a sense na lumalapit tayo sa mga tagahanga, pero may mga moments katulad nito na kailangan lang maging private,” Karylle said.
“Kung okay lang, I ask for your prayers and also for the time for her to be alone and private about it,” Karylle implored.

It was just this March when Zsa Zsa confirmed she was planning an intimate wedding, and that it was calendared for this year.
Details of the reasons for the breakup are still unclear, but does it look like they’ll be working it out?
“I don’t know… I don’t think so, but that’s not really for me to say,” Karylle said when she was asked about a Zsa Zsa and Onglao reconciliation.
