David Beckham is a soccer legend, fashion icon, loving husband. Today he's also one of the top favorite celebrity daddies, and deservedly so. We tell you why we think he's the coolest dad in modern history.

He's a stay at home dad and proud of it!

After retiring from professional football and with Mrs. Beckham busy with her own fashion business, DB has been stepping up to the role of Stay At Home Dad splendidly. His public enjoyment of his role as a SAHD is surely redefining paternity in popular culture.

Giving a brief run-down of a typical day in his life in an interview: "I've become a taxi driver overnight with the kids. I'm literally an Uber driver now," he states. "I literally take them from 7 in the morning to the schools—I have four drop-offs at four different schools—so I get that done in an hour and 15 minutes. And then I pick my little girl up at 12, and then the boys at 4, and then the boys train in a soccer academy every single night of the week. So I'm busy every night until 9:30, and then I'm at home."

Seriously, who could look at this adorable picture of him feeding ice-cream to his daughter, and not think he's the greatest dad ever?

He puts his son in his place—by trolling him!

Brooklyn Beckham was mighty chuffed when he hit the million mark in Instagram followers—a definite sign of uber-coolness in any 16 year old's book. That is until Dad video-bombed him at the end of the video as he quipped "I've got 52"- that would be 52 million Instagram followers.

With a dad like that, it's no wonder none of his kids have been in the news for any of the bratty antics we're so used to seeing from celebrity kids.

He teaches his children to give back

Beckham's list of charities that he supports includes CHOC Children's, UNICEF, Red Cross and mothers2mothers. The Beckhams even have their own foundation called the Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust.

During the most recent launch of "7", a new fund he has just started with UNICEF to help children around the world, he repeatedly mentioned that he would involve his kids and "This (the charity) is something I want my children to be proud of."

From his work, it's obvious that children are a pet concern of his - not just his own, but even the less fortunate ones around the world.

He speaks for every parent who's ever been told what to do with their kids

In a recent article, Beckham's parenting came under harsh scrutiny for allowing four-year old Harper Beckham to continue using the pacifier. Critics slammed him for possibly impeding her speech development and causing dental problems.

Beckham retorted, defending his actions as that of a concerned parent trying to comfort his daughter who was under the weather, ending off the Instagram post with "...actually you have no right to criticise me as a parent…”

You tell 'em, DB! For every silly and unsolicited piece of advice we've ever been given, parents around the world cheered him on.

Family is always prioritized right at the top of the list

Beckham is a soccer legend of our modern era in his own right, having won a long list of sports accolades. Add to that mix, a philanthropist, model and entrepreneur.

Despite all of that, he was recently reported saying, "In my career, there are many things I’ve won, and many things I’ve achieved, but for me my greatest achievement is my children and my family."
