8 Reasons why many parents are obsessed with ALDUB

It comes as no surprise that even moms and dads are now hooked on the phenomenon that is Aldub!

It’s safe to say that Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub, collectively known as ALDUB, have taken over the nation.

But it’s not only tweens and teens that are hooked on the history-making, pabebe-waving, dubsmash-splitscreen love team; parents make up a huge section of the Aldub fandom as well!

Of the 55,000 people who trooped to their recent sold-out concert at the Philippine arena, many of them were moms and dads.

Here are eight reasons why parents are not immune to the ALDUB bug!

1. They show kids that patience is a virtue.

The saying “Sa tamang panahon”, which gained popularity as one of Lola Nidora’s nuggets of wisdom teaches kids to wait for the right time and have patience when it comes to love and fulfilling their dreams.

2. They listen to their elders.

The relationship between Yaya Dub and Lola Nidora teaches kids to value, respect, and care for their elders.

Alden obeying Lola’s advice about proper courtship and being a gentleman is also a good example for teens.

3. They teach kids to be real.

Yaya Dub’s candid and funny antics teaches kids that it’s okay to embrace your wacky self.

She is also excellent at dancing (and dubsmashing) like nobody’s watching!

4. They value family.

Both Alden and Maine a.k.a. Yaya Dub remain close to their families.

Before their mega hit concert at the Philippine arena, Maine’s sister and Alden’s dad took to twitter.

Yung totoo iyak ako talaga! I’m so proud of you @mainedcm!! Sobra sobra sobra. #ALDubEBTamangPahanon

Huwag po kalimutan mag alay ng dasal bago po tayo pumunta sa Phil. Arena. Good night! — Richard P Faulkerson (@r_faulkerson) October 23, 2015

5. They teach kids to work hard for what they want.

When Lola Nidora, challenged Alden with difficult tasks, he did not back down.

Instead, he did it with willingness and optimism.

6. They are good role models off cam.

No matter how famous they get, you can still see that they remain genuine and humble.

7. Kalyeserye is a fun activity for the whole family.

On weekdays, it’s probably mostly moms and dads that tune in but when Saturday comes along, the whole family can join in on the fun!

8. They not only give joy but they help society.

At their mega hit, sold-out “Sa Tamang Panahon” concert at the Philippine arena, they announced that 100% of ticket sales will be donated for the funding of ‘Aldub libraries’ all over the Philippines.
