Barefoot street kid given brand new shoes by foreigner

In a seemingly random act of kindness and humanity, a foreigner bought a brand new pair of shoes for a barefoot street kid that he just met.

We often take a lot of things for granted. For a lot of people, food, decent clothing, and even shoes aren’t easy to come by.

That’s why when the viral story of a foreigner who bought a barefoot street kid a pair of brand new shoes, we were touched by the simple act of kindness that he did.

“First time kong makakita ng foreigner na may kasamang street kid”

Ahyan Yerro, the assistant supervisor in the store where the foreigner took the street kid to was surprised to see the odd pair checking out shoes inside the store.

She shares, “Nagulat ako, first time kong makakita ng foreigner na may kasamang street kid.”

The store was also more than willing to help find a good pair of shoes for the barefoot kid. They also made sure to treat the street kid just as good as their other customers. “Talagang VIP treatment po kami, we made sure na talagang makakapili sila,” she adds.

She shared the story online to inspire people

Raymond Seneca, one of the store’s staff, shared that he always sees the barefoot kid selling sampaguita and begging for change right outside the mall. The foreigner who bought him shoes also bought all of the sampaguita that the kid was selling.

Motivated by the act of kindness, Ahyan Yerro decided to take some photos and share the story online, in hopes that it would inspire people to help each other out.

The foreigner also contacted Yerro about her Facebook post, and thanked her for the post. He shares that the street kid was named Warren, and he’s 14 years old, and lives in Pasig City. He added that they also bought Warren some new clothes at the department store, where the staff also helped him find new clothes for the poor boy.

Some media outlets tried to interview the foreigner, but he declined, citing his busy schedule. He also said that the publicity he received from his good did is enough, and he hopes that it would encourage others to do the same.

He adds, “This is how we can make the world a better place.”
