13 Best pieces of marriage advice you'll ever hear

These pieces of advice should help you and your spouse keep your marriage happy, and keep the romance alive in your marriage!

1. Enjoy being with each other

How can your marriage last if you can’t stand being with each other? Make sure that whenever with you’re significant other, you feel secure, satisfied, and happy about everything that’s happening in your life. It’s a sure way to make your marriage last.

2. Don’t take your husband/wife for granted

Taking your spouse for granted is one of the worst things that you can do in a marriage. Make sure to be thankful for your partner’s efforts, and they’ll be sure to return the favor.

3. Learn to forgive

Couples fight, and couples sometimes hurt each other. But no matter how many arguments you have, the most important thing is that the both of you learn from your mistakes, and you learn to forgive each other for whatever hurtful things you might have said.

4. Don’t let money ruin your marriage

Money can be a big problem in marriages. Which is why it’s important early on to have wise spending habits, and learn to manage your money wisely. It’s also important to be honest with your spouse when it comes to your finances. It can save you a lot of trouble later on.

5. Have a life outside your marriage

As much as your marriage and your family is important, it’s just as important for you and your spouse to have lives outside the marriage. You can have hobbies, or interests that you can call your own. Going out with friends is also a good way for you to feel independent, and have a sense of self within your relationship.

6. Always say “I love you”

It’s the most direct expression of your love towards each other, so never ever get tired of saying “I love you.”

7. Greet each other “Good morning”

Starting your day right is important, since if you start off on the wrong foot, it can ruin your entire day. So to make sure that you have a good start, make sure to greet your significant other first thing in the morning. That way, you’re always inspired, and have something to look forward to when you come home.

8. Know when to give and when to take

A marriage is a give and take relationship. It won’t work if someone’s always giving, or the other person’s always taking.

9. Marry someone you can’t live without

Instead of marrying someone you can live with, marry someone that you can’t live without. It’ll make your marriage and your life that much better.

10. Keep trying

Sometimes, even if you try your best, it just doesn’t work. However, this doesn’t mean that you should give up. Be persistent, and do your best to make things work.

11. Be committed in everything you do

Never do anything half-heartedly, especially in your marriage. Always be passionate, and always give your 100% in your marriage.

12. Always keep the love alive

Go on dates, even just simple movie dates at home. They don’t have to be anything fancy, but you do have to at least make an effort to make your spouse feel loved and appreciated.

13. If you want to, you can make it work

Marriage isn’t easy, even for couples who are deeply in love with each other. However, if the both of you are committed to making your marriage work, and are doing your best to keep each other happy, and the romance alive, then your marriage will thrive.
