According to GMA News correspondent Hero Peewee Bacuño, a woman gave birth in a taxi somewhere in Quezon City with the help of two quick acting kagawads of the Quezon City Fire District.
The birth happened shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the woman, Colyn Alcala, boarded a cab with plate number UYB 779 to go to the hospital when the driver, Edwin Esteban, noticed that she was already about to give birth.
So he decided to stop at the Quezon City Fire Station along Kalayaan Avenue to ask for help.
It was a good thing Fire Senior Inspector Glezie Daus and FO3 Richard Andrew Roces were there to respond to the emergency.
They facilitated the delivery and safely brought Colyn’s baby into the world.
She and her healthy baby boy were immediately brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for further treatment.
