Starting a new chapter of your life by entering someone else’s story isn’t always easy. Becoming a stepmother to your partner’s kids means being understanding, patient, and loving. These celebrity stepmoms teach us that loving families comes in all forms. They’re complex, sometimes complicated, but no less filled with love.
1. Pauleen Luna
There were many doubters, but Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto didn’t let this or their 34-year age gap stand in the way of their love.
Even though some of her “stepkids” are older than she is, Pauleen is handling it gracefully. Vic’s eldest daughter with ex-wife Danica Sotto has said in a previous interview that she can see how happy her dad is. And, Vic’s former partner Angela Luz even recently shared a sweet message for Pauleen, thanking her for supporting Vic’s relationship with their daughter Paulina.
2. Heart Evangelista
Even though she doesn’t have kids of her own yet, Heart shows her sweet, maternal side when she bonds with husband Chiz’ kids from a previous marriage. In fact, just recently, she took her mom and stepdaughter Chessie on an all-girls Japan trip. So sweet!
3. Regine Velasquez
The cool and loving stepmom has truly embraced her role. When Ogie’s daughter with ex-wife Michelle Van Eimeren expressed her desire to join showbiz, Regine welcomed her to their home. Michelle, who’s based in Australia, thinks she’s the “best stepmom ever”. The two have formed a close friendship over the years. Leila is a loving ate to Regine and Ogie’s son Nate.
4. Mariel Rodriguez
Though she’s only in her 30s, she will soon be a stepmom and grandma to Kylie Padilla’s first child. Robin’s other daughter, Queenie, from a previous marriage considers her as a “kabarkada”.
When she suffered a miscarriage, Kylie was there to comfort her. It’s adorable that Kylie is going to be a mom almost a year after Mariel became one for the first time. We can’t wait to see them enjoy motherhood together!
5. Priscilla Mereilles
Though she and her husband’s ex-wife Janice de Belen, with whom he has five kids, aren’t exactly BFFs, there is no “bad blood” between them, according to Janice’s daughter, Inah. In fact, we often see Priscilla bonding with John and Janice’s kids over dinner on social media. John and Priscilla welcomed a daughter of their own in 2012.
6. Charlene Gonzales
A mom to 16-year-old twins, this ageless beauty also shines as a stepmom (and stepgrandma) to Luigi “Igi Boy” and his two daughters. Luigi is the son of Charlene’s husband Aga Muhlach with his former partner, Janice de Belen.
“I admit we’ve gotten a lot closer, to him and his wife. I always tell him na blessing para sa kanya si Patty [Patricia]. And we have a really good relationship now,” said Charlene, referring to Luigi and his wife, in a past interview.
7. Camille Prats
After recently tying the knot with VJ Yambao, the 31-year-old actress is expecting her second child! But she welcomed a “new baby” long before that, when she embraced VJ’s son from a previous relationship as her own. In turn, VJ also considers Camille’s 9-year-old son Nathan like his biological child.
Nathan’s dad Anthony, Camille’s first husband, sadly succumbed to cancer in 2011.
