Doctors were so amazed that they quickly took photos seconds after delivery.
As moms, we know that each and every baby brought into this world is special, but the birth of this baby is so rare that it’s managed to leave parents and medical professionals around in the world, in awe.
Silas Johnson was delivered prematurely at 26 weeks via c-section. He was taken from his mother’s womb completely encased in his amniotic sac.
Silas received oxygen from the placenta before the sac was broken.
According to The Independent, the amniotic sac is the bag of clear liquid, in which the unborn child develops until their birth. The sac usually breaks at the beginning of child-birth, and is referred to as the mother’s water breaking.
Reports say that attending neonatologist, William Binder, snapped the beautiful photos before going to work on the baby. Until the sac was broken, baby Silas was getting oxygen through the placenta.
At the time, the baby’s mother, Chelsea Phillips, was unaware of the ruckus that her first-born was causing in the delivery room but is happy to report that Silas is healthy and has already staying with her at home.
