It’s truly an exciting time for Neri Naig and her hubby, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda. The soon-to-be parents recently threw a quaint baby shower picnic at their newly completed cottage in Tagaytay. Now, they’re gearing up for the birth of their “Little Chito”, which is set for November.
We caught up with the soon-to-be mom to find out how she’s doing now that her due date is weeks away.
When asked what she’s most looking forward to, Neri told theAsianparent: “Everything about having a baby, regardless kung ano ang gender. Super excited kami ni Chito sa baby namin. Kahit ang magpuyat, excited na ako!”
Chito’s most recent post on Instagram proves just how excited Neri is to meet their little one.

“…ang kulit ng asawa ko. Manganganak na next month pero gusto niya siya mismo maglalaba ng mga gamit ng baby namin,” wrote Chito, adding that even if they have household helpers and a washing machine, Neri insisted to do it herself in order to make sure it’s washed well.
“(It’s) difficult, fun, and life-changing,” she replied simply when asked to describe her pregnancy journey so far.

“Sobrang gusto ko yung picture na ‘to,” wrote Chito alongside a recent photo of Neri with one of their dogs. “Sobrang normal lang naman. Picture lang sya ng asawa kong buntis na hindi man lang naka-ayos, kasama ng isa sa mga dogs namin. Nothing glamorous nor impressive about it. Kita pa nga yung sampayan namin sa gilid eh. Wala lang. Normal. Pero I think it perfectly shows where I am in life right now, which is exactly where I want to be. Eto eksakto yung buhay na gusto ko.”

As for her most frequent cravings? Neri revealed that it’s mostly potatoes: “usually steak and potatoes, mashed potato, and fries.”

“Mom ko nasa bahay, most of the time siya nagluluto ng food namin lalo na kapag di ako makabangon kase hirap din ako sa pagbubuntis.”
For most new moms and dads, drawing wisdom from their own parents can prove quite helpful. Has she gotten any advice from her own mom or dad?
“Parang wala ata,” she told theAsianparent, laughing. “Di kase marunong mag express ng emotions ang nanay ko. Pero inaalagaan niya naman kami. Mom ko nasa bahay, most of the time siya nagluluto ng food namin lalo na kapag di ako makabangon kase hirap din ako sa pagbubuntis.”
Despite her delicate pregnancy, Neri manages to keep busy, even indulging in her hobbies and successfully growing her homebased businesses.
As for moms who want to follow in her “Wais na Misis” footsteps, Neri suggests to make saving a habit as early as possible.
“Now palang mag-tipid. Ilista lahat ng pasok at labas ng pera para namomonitor kung saan napupunta yung pera,” urged Neri, stressing the importance of not being impulsive when it comes to business endeavors.. “Wag magbusiness agad agad ng ‘di pinag iisipan at ‘di sigurado. Pag sure ka na sa business, dapat ang isusugal mo na pera yung extra mo lang para kung malugi, ‘di ubos yung savings mo.”
Though the gender reveal happened during their baby shower, Neri shared that they found out months before that.
“We found out on the 4th month. Twice namin pinacheck kung sure na boy,” she recalled.
