Let's take a look back on some of the latest news that broke over the weekend!

After over a year of marriage, Pauleen Luna happily confirmed that she is expecting her first child with veteran comedian Vic Sotto, who made the funny announcement on Eat Bulaga. “Gusto ko pong i-announce sa Pilipinas at sa buong mundo na buntis ako,” he joked. “Hindi po ako… ang aking asawa.”

“Finally, a bun in the oven! Can’t be more proud and excited to be a mom,” wrote Pauleen alongside a clip of the announcement. “Thank you to my handsome for surprising me with this announcement. Thank you Lord for being so gracious!”

Along with sharing the happy news, they asked for prayers for Pauleen’s safe and healthy delivery.

It will be Pauleen’s first child, while Vic Sotto has four kids from previous relationships.

Quiapo explosions claim the life of 2 civilians, injure 6

Two consecutive blasts went off in Quiapo over the weekend, claiming the life of two men and injuring 6 other civilians, reports say. One of the two fatalities was a GrabExpress driver who was allegedly unaware of the package he was delivering.

The first explosion happened near the Manila Golden Mosque (Norzagaray Street corner Elizondo Street) at 5:55 pm on Saturday, reports Rappler.

“There are no indications that this is a terrorist attack. The package was intended for a specific person,” NCRPO chief Director Oscar Albayalde told ANC News in an interview.

Investigations are currently underway, but so far, authorities have found no link to the April 28 pipe bomb explosion in the same area. In response telecom companies have announced a shut down of cell reception in the area as a precaution, presumably because the bombs were detonated through mobile phones.

Teens charged with murder for brutally killing friend over a cellphone charger

A 16-year-old and 17-year old in San Mateo, Rizal have been charged with murdering 19-year-old Lyndon Masinsin, GMA news reports. The two teens, along with another companion who is currently on the run, apparently killed the victim during a squabble over a “stolen” cellphone charger.

Lyndon’s body was found buried in a compound in Barangay Ampid. Investigations found his body had been chopped up and burned. They also found the alleged murder weapon in the same area.

The 19-year-old victim had been missing for two weeks received a tip that he had been buried in the said compound.
