How to Get Rid of Body Odor Permanently

Are you among those thousands of women who feel self-conscious about their bodily scent and are looking for ways on how to get rid of body odor? You may use fancy terms for your sweat and may refer to yourself as "glowing" after a workout, however, the simple truth of the matter is that when you perspire, you also stink.

There are people who smell bad only after perspiration but there are some people who may just have an unpleasant body odor in spite of their best efforts. It is interesting to note that both men and women seem to suffer from this problem and it is equally embarrassing for both genders.

A lot of people may think that they have to live with this problem and there is no solution to how to get rid of body odor. This notion, however, couldn’t be further from the truth. There are a lot of simple tricks that can help you remain fresh and smell good, even in the unlikeliest of situations.

If you are wondering about how to get rid of body odor, read on. Practice these simple steps and you can once again get all those beautiful tank tops and sleeveless blouses out of your closet without having to worry either about the stench or the stains.

Keep your underarms clean

Keep your underarms clean

The truth is that almost 65% of a person’s body odor is caused by sweat and grime that collect in the intimate areas. A major part of the solution to how to get rid of body odor is to target the underarm area as it is most prone to sweating and smelling bad. Add a little friction there and it gets stained, too.

If you haven’t been paying a lot of attention to your underarms and are leaving them unshaved for most part, you are inviting trouble for yourself. Hairy underarms tend to sweat more so practice hair removal from your underarms on a daily or regular basis.

Instead of using deodorants and scented sticks, go for scented creams

These creams not only moisturize the delicate, intimate areas, but are also well absorbed by the skin. It's one of the best ways on how to get rid of body odor since the fragrance lasts longer than body mists, deodorants or perfumes.
Drink lots of water

Your body tends to expel toxins through the skin. So the more toxins there are in your body, the more body odor you will experience. This is a common problem among many people. To avoid body odor, give special attention to your diet. One of the best ways on how to get rid of body odor is to drink lots of water and eat fresh fruits, vegetables and other sources of roughage so that your body’s toxins are expelled regularly.
Improve your hygiene

If you are not in the habit of taking a bath everyday, you should be. Especially in the sweltering heat of the Philippines, you should even consider the option of a twice-daily shower if you're serious about how to get rid of body odor.
Get a good sweat

Another reason why a lot of people have body odor is that their sweat glands keep working full time but the pores of their skin are clogged. It is a good idea to sweat out regularly. Join a gym or a spa that gives you the facility of a sauna. Use it for a few minutes everyday.

If the idea of a sauna bath doesn’t sound too good when thinking of a way on how to get rid of body odor, you can alternatively sweat it out by exercising for a few minutes everyday. Once you are completely sweaty, don’t forget to take a bath -- otherwise you will simply end up defeating the purpose!
