It’s been a month since Cai Cortez got married to her foreigner boyfriend, Wissem Rkhami. And to celebrate their first month as husband and wife, Cai took to Instagram to make a very special announcement–she’s pregnant!
“Tomorrow marks the first month that we have been together as husband and wife. The happiest month of my life. And the greatest decision I have ever made,” Cai began her lengthy Instagram message.
“We were planning to just have a small ceremony. Just you, me, my immediate family, your adopted family in the form of your friends, chosen witnesses and of course the very important guest who had a front seat in my belly,” she broke the news about her pregnancy.
Cai’s announcement was accompanied by a picture from their wedding day, where Wissem can be seen lovingly caressing Cai’s baby bump.

A “grandiose” wedding
According to the actress, they planned to have a simple ceremony, wearing only their “store bought clothes”. But thoughtful people gave them a more “grandiose” ceremony than initially planned.
“…our plan was just to get civilly married in our store bought clothes, go to manila city hall and forever be one. We weren’t planning for anything grandiose because we wanted to have the big celebration once our baby boy has arrived, but thanks to very thoughtful people we had just that,” she also said.
Cai then went on to thank the people who made her wedding day extra special–friends who had helped her with the “last minute wedding gown”, bouquet, and photographer, among others.
“Our last minute consultations and fittings will be forever kilig memories leading to the big day,” Cai shared.
Cai also made sure to thank her parents for their unwavering support, as well as her husband’s family for welcoming her so gladly into their family.
“To my parents who were there for us every step of the way, we wouldn’t be here without your guidance,” she said.
“To Wissem’s family though they were not there physically, I know that I know that they were there spiritually. From day one they didn’t waste any time to make me feel part of the family.”
The love of her life
Cai ended her Instagram post by thanking her husband, whom she called the love of her life, and expressing her confidence that he would make a good father.
“And to you, the love of my life, thank you for loving me the way you do. A single glance from you makes me feel safe and complete. I couldn’t ask for a better man to be the father of my Hbib…you will be a great father because i know that you are an amazing husband. I love you dubb…”
