A 4-year-old girl in Hyderabad, India died instantly after getting her head accidentally stuck in their school elevator.

In Hyderabad, a four-year-old child died instantly when her head got stuck in her school’s faulty elevator. A student of the Sri Chaitanya School located in Dilkushnager, Syeda Xanaib apparently fell down while walking from the first floor to the third floor of the school building.

According to hindustantimes.com, she slipped through the grills of the door around the exact time when the lift started moving and got killed instantly when her head got pulled in.

Other reports state that eight toddlers, including Xanaib, were guided into the lift when some of the kids started horsing around, causing Xainab’s hand to get stuck between the doors of the elevator. But what caused the death of the child was when the door inside the elevator opened up and her head got stuck between the roof of the ground floor and elevator.

The body of the child was only pulled out when the police arrived more than 30 minutes after the incident.

With the conflicting reports, the tragic incident has left parents shocked and angry as they feel that the school is guilty of negligence.

A lot of parents are questioning as to why a nursery schools needs to have so many floors and why it needs to have an elevator.

The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is conducting an investigation and the principal and teacher of the child are currently detained.
