On August 22, 2015, a son’s touching tribute to his father went viral on Facebook, pulling on heartstrings and making readers cry.

According to Facebook user Jace Pasigay, he penned the letter in honor of his father’s death anniversary as a way for thanking the latter for all the sacrifices he made as a “kargador” to put Jace through school—a feat which Jace accomplished as valedictorian.

Here is the full text from Jace’s post:

Kaya nga sabi ko, He deserves to be loved. Until now, he deserves our overflowing love. Kahit wala na siya, his face will never be forgotten. Isang taon. Dalawang taon. Ilang taon man ang lumipas. I love you pa. Salamat sayo!
