Soon-to-be Mommathlete Cha Cruz-Behag is expecting her baby anytime soon!
Cha announced her pregnancy last April 12 just this year on her Instagram post wherein she captioned, “The greatest blessing authored in His perfect timing. #11weekspregnant”
Since the announcement, the former De La Salle star and F2 Logistics team captain has taken a hiatus from volleyball as she and husband Ray Behag are expecting a baby.
The Asian Parent got a chance to have an exclusive talk with the volleyball star, definitely from Miss Everything to Mrs. Everything and now Mommy Everything!
Ready na sa motherhood si Cha Cruz-Behag
Having kids—the responsibility of rearing good, kind, ethical, responsible human beings—is the biggest job anyone can embark on and Cha Cruz-Behag is ready for it!
The soon-to-be Mommy Everything shares, “I look forward to bringing up our child in our own culture and just seeing how the child’s personality develops through every stage.”
She added, “I’m also excited to bond and have real experiences that we could all value as a family.”
Cha is expected to give birth this October 2019, so basically it is anytime soon now.
The volleyball player also heard stories already on how it’s like to be a mom here and there.
Though, despite the stories she has an impression that when you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts, because a mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.

Cha reveals, “We hear stories of sleepless nights and errands around the clock, although we are also told that its all going to be worth it.”
“We are also in anticipation of a great change in our routines. We also have the impression that we would think less of ourselves and every decision we make will have our baby taken into account,” she stated.
“We are looking forward to making the most of every moment, because we feel that our child will grow up too fast,” she continued.

Parenting style
We all know that parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.
Soon-to-be Mommathlete Cha Cruz-Behag shared that when it comes on parenting or disciplining their child there would be no good or bad cop.

She explained, “Ray and I have to strive to be on the same page in dealing with and assessing every situation, so that standards are set and rules are equally observed, regardless of which parent is present or enforcing.”
“We know how easy it is to tame your baby by just throwing a phone or tablet in their hands and putting on YouTube, but after stories of medical conditions, adverse effects of, and our own personal stand regarding screens, we will strive to limit their exposure to screens,” she affirmed.
With Cha’s fame and status, some people may say that somehow it would affect their child, but beyond fame and status the volleyball player believes that “influence has a greater impact on a child.”
“If given a chance, I’ll continue to train and play and Ray will be back at work,” she asserted.
She also disclosed, “With our kid seeing us and what we do in an almost daily basis, we don’t want him or her to feel like there is any pressure in following in our footsteps.”
Preparation
Preparing on being a parent might be the easiest thing in the world to have an opinion about, but the hardest thing in the world to do.
And so as first-time parents, when Cha Cruz-Behag and husband Ray Behag found out that they were pregnant there was a shift in their diet, lifestyle, etc.
They wanted to prepare themselves physically first by eating healthier and hitting the gym.
With mentally, they started reading up on books and got into serious conversations with other parents to hear and learn about their own experiences.
While emotionally, they had to extend their patience and become more understanding with one another, especially with all the hormones and mood swings.

But the most important thing that Cha shared, “Before we even got pregnant or even tried, we’ve started it all by preparing ourselves spiritually.”
“Praying for every step of the process and surrounding ourselves with people who pray for us and with us and keeping faithful with our own personal walks with God every single day,” Cha conveyed.

Cha, having 2 brothers and 6 sisters, she feels like it would be more of a new experience and a different challenge if they would be having a baby boy.
The couple even prepared a couple of boys and girls names and have actually already chosen one, but they have decided to keep it until the day the baby finally comes out!
And guess what?! Cha Cruz-Behag and husband Ray Behag are happy to tell you that they are having a baby boy anytime soon!
Congratulations Mommy Cha!
