Actress/Singer Ciara Sotto posted an honest and inspiring message to her fellow breastfeeding moms on the Facebook group, Breastfeeding Pinays.
In posting on their group’s wall, Ciara wanted to give encouragement to breastfeeding moms going through the same things.
After sharing her own difficulties with breastfeeding, she expressed how she remains grateful that she stuck to it because it made her son even stronger and healthier.
Here is Ciara’s heartfelt message, in full:
“Just want to encourage all mommies to breastfeed. Alam ko po mahirap sa una but I have been breastfeeding my 9 month old. At first, I wanted to give up, I even gave formula for about 2 weeks but I still continued latching the baby. And now he doesn’t want to take a bottle so I take him with me everywhere. Kahit po malayo lang taping, sinasama ko. I just feel it’s very important. There was a time my nipples were too sore and the left one was almost bleeding so I would pump every 2-3 hours walang tulugan po nung gumaling na, I latched the baby again and now I don’t get to pump anymore, I just keep latching. And I could see my hard work pay off because his Pedia keeps saying he is a strong, healthy baby. Samahan niyo rin po ng dasal. God bless you, mommies!”
