After days of holiday indulgence, one word comes to mind when January rolls around: DETOX. Here are 5 things you can do now to lose the lethargy (not to mention that nasty lechon bulge!) and start feeling good about the new year.
Detox: Get rid of the clutter… for a profit!
Things have a tendency to pile up over the holidays and you want to start the year clean. Creating space in your home will give you that much-needed breather. Now why not make money while you’re at it?
Try Shopee. It’s the latest social mobile marketplace that lets you buy and sell goods quickly and safely. It’s free to list your items as a seller, with an interface that’s easy to manage, and Shopee doesn’t get any commission from you.
It has great community features that make selling extra easy like in-app chat with prospective buyers (no time wasted in email inquiries) and customer reviews. You can even use hashtags in your product description so it’s easier for buyers to find.

Transactions are secured by the Shopee guarantee, which means that the seller isn’t paid until the buyer confirms that he has received it in good condition.
Detox: Breathe clean. Drink clean.
City life has its ups, but poor air quality is definitely one of its downs. This is especially worrisome for us moms, who are constantly concerned about our children’s health. Add an air purifier to the kids’ room like these adorable penguin and shark units from Crane (left in photo) and you’ll breathe easy while they breathe in better air. These 5-level filtration purifiers help remove airborne viruses, bacteria, germs, and allergy-causing particles.
Clean water is also vital to children’s health, keeping them free from water-borne diseases such as E. Coli, Typhoid Fever, Hepatitis A, cholera, and diarrhea. If you’re in the market for a water purifier, check out Unilever’s Pureit Excella (right in photo) – it’s non-electric and has a 5-step purification process to eliminate 99.9999% of bacteria, viruses, and parasites.
Start fresh… digitally.
Back to the daily grind in all its messy glory. Clear your head by clearing things up on your desktop! You’ll feel tons better and ready for whatever work challenge 2024 brings. Now is also a good time to organize and back-up your files – especially your 2023 photos! Reducing the amount of clutter and folders in your laptop will make space for new files.
Apps that you no longer find useful in your daily activities should also be eliminated from your devices. Turn photo dumps into neat photo folders and you’ll get extra excited to make and capture new memories.
Detox: Time management might help!
Steer clear of handling everything at once. As an alternative, focus on just one task at a time. Stick to the task at hand and minimize, or better yet, turn off, distractions like social media. Reducing the amount of work you have to accomplish each day will become easier if you learn effective time management techniques.
Sort the tasks on your list according to their priority and urgency. Important and urgent tasks need to be completed immediately, whereas less important and less urgent tasks should be put off until last.
Give yourself a deadline to finish chores to increase attention and efficiency. Thus, think about assigning a task, or a portion of a task, to someone else if you anticipate having trouble finishing it by the deadline.

Allow yourself to grow
It’s time to give up critiquing and condemning yourself for all of your failures. One of the secrets to a new and prosperous year is accepting and allowing “YOU” to change. It’s also around that time. Embrace your old self fully, and then develop new behaviors to transform it for the better.
Make a commitment to breaking free from behaviors that don’t benefit you or help you achieve your objectives.
