Kailangan pa ba ng milk ang toddler? Oo, pero nasa tamang dami. Basahin kung gaano karami ang dapat inumin at kung paano nakatutulong ang calcium sa growth at development ng bata.

Pagkatapos ng unang taon, madalas na tanong ng mga magulang: “Kailangan pa ba ng milk ang toddler ko? At kung oo, gaano karami?” Natural lang na maging curious, lalo na’t nagsisimula nang kumain ng mas maraming solid food ang mga bata. Gaano karami dapat?

Ayon sa mga eksperto, nasa 2–3 cups ng milk (16–24 ounces) per day ang recommended para sa toddlers. Sapat na ito para makatulong sa growth at development, pero hindi sobra na makakasagabal sa appetite nila para sa solid food.

Tip: Iwasan ang sobra-sobrang milk intake kasi baka mag-lead ito sa picky eating o kaya iron deficiency.

Ano ang role ng calcium sa milk?

Ang calcium ang isa sa pinakamahalagang nutrients na nakukuha ng toddlers mula sa milk. Para saan ba ito?

  • Matibay na buto at ngipin – Sa stage na ito, mabilis ang paglaki ng bata at kailangan ng extra support para maging strong ang skeletal system.

  • Muscle function – Tumutulong ang calcium para gumana nang maayos ang muscles.

  • Overall growth – Kasama ng Vitamin D at iba pang nutrients, nakakatulong ang calcium para maging healthy at active ang toddler mo.

Bukod sa milk, makukuha rin ang calcium sa:

  • Malalabay na gulay (malunggay, pechay, broccoli)

  • Tofu at soy products

  • Fish tulad ng sardinas at dilis

  • Fortified foods (cereals, bread, etc.)
