According to ABS-CBN news, a kilo of methamphetamines, estimated to be worth 3 million pesos was recovered in a vacant lot in Quezon City. According to a witness, a 16-year-old, who remains nameless as he is underage, had been smuggling drugs into QCPD Station 3. The teen who was identified was allegedly bringing drugs to his dad, who is currently incarcerated for a drug-related crime in the said prison.

Barangay officials confronted the teen and his mom. Upon questioning, the teen reportedly admitted to the crime, saying he had been coerced into becoming a drug mule by his own father.

The mother did not deny the allegations, according to the report. But his father denied it, saying that the police wrongfully accused him to cover up their own misdeeds.

As a result, the two officers stationed at the said prison had been let go. Authorities are currently making a thorough investigation of the prison to identify the supplier of the retrieved drugs and to make sure there are no more remaining illegal drugs or contraband.

Tragedy struck when a minibus in Nueva Ecija spun out of control and plunged into a nearby ravine. Preliminary reports state that the vehicle’s malfunctioning brakes were the cause of the accident, but further investigation showed that the front tires of the bus exploded.

Nueva Ecija Police director Sr. Supt. Antonio Yarra told GMA News that the bus was overloaded, saying that 77 passengers were on board even though the bus’ capacity was only 45.

He also lamented the lack of road safety signs in the area where the accident happened. The owner of the LeoMarick minibus has yet to grant interviews or cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Single mom Andi Eigenmann went on a twitter rant against the dad of her 5-year-old daughter Ellie, Jake Ejercito. Though she didn’t outright identify the target of her tirade, it’s pretty obvious who she is referring to.

She posted a series of tweets, beginning with how she wants to stand up for her rights even if she’s alone in the fight.

“I still believe that real justice can prevail in this country. Even if you are up against a family with power and (lots of) money,” wrote Andi, presumably referring to Jake and his family, with whom the single mom had publicly at odds with.

Clarifying why she had to resort to social media, she wrote: “I take to twitter because it seems as though they only care to take notice when its their image at risk.”

He emphasized he had no prior knowledge of the said plantation. An identification card belonging to a man named Rufino Lagade, a drug surrenderer from Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet, was reportedly found in a shed at the plantation.

Authorities said the plantation is about 1,600 square meters, containing marijuana which they estimate to be worth about P8.87 million. After they found the plantation, they burned all the marijuana recovered at the site.
