On 5 June, Barbie Hsu admitted to Taiwan Apple Daily that the couple’s divorce proceedings were underway. But during this time, Xiaofei and both their mothers denied the rumors.

In an interview on Tuesday (10 August), Barbie Hsu’s mum revealed that the actress and her husband have already “reconciled” after all the divorce claims. Although, she refrained from saying anything more.

“This is their family matter, I do not wish to talk more about it,” the actress’s mum said, as per 8Days.

A divorced man has this beautiful advice for all married men

The 44-year-old actress and her 39-year-old husband have two children together. They have a seven-year-old daughter, Hsi-Yueh, and a five-year-old son, Hsi-Lin.

Back in March, Xiaofei went back to China for the opening of his new restaurant, while Barbie stayed in Taiwan to take care of the kids. But when the divorce rumors started to spread, the father of two wanted to fly back to appease Barbie.

His mother-in-law was against it as she told Apple Daily, “He would have to spend a lot of time in quarantine and would not be able to take care of his businesses, so I advised him to assess the situation first and to bear with things a little longer.”

Barbie’s mum was also asked how things were between the pair in which she answered, “They are like a bickering couple. They have nothing better to do.”

She added that if they ever were actually to divorce, she would “give them 50 beatings.”

Netizens previously encouraged Xiaofei to divorce the actress after he defended her sister

In the same interview, Barbie Hsu’s mum also talked about her younger daughter Dee Hsu. The actress’s sister recently came under fire when she called Taiwanese Olympians “our national athletes.”

“I can only use the word ‘injustice’ to describe [the matter],” says Hsu’s mum. “Dee spoke about [the Olympics] like how a normal person would…. Our family hates politics the most. I hope netizens will gradually ease their anger.”

She was also not pleased when netizens turned against Xiafei when he spoke up for his sister-in-law on Weibo. They told him to divorce Barbie and to take his children back to China so that they wouldn’t be “brainwashed” by Taiwan’s “pro-indepencdence education.”

To this, his mother-in-law retorted, “I did not even say anything about this, who are the netizens to comment on it?”
