#TAPMAM: Orange and Peach mompreneur Jasslyn Tan on educating and empowering women

4 min read

Get to know the successful mom behind Orange and Peach, TAP MAM honoree, Jasslyn Tan.

To celebrate International Women’s Month, we bring you The Asian Parent’s Marvelous Asian Mums 2021, featuring inspiring mothers who made a meaningful contribution to improving the lives of moms and other women alike. One of this year’s honorees is Orange and Peach founder, Jasslyn Tan.

What can you read in this article?

  • Mommy Jass’ reason for starting Orange and Peach.
  • Her passions and her superpower
  • Her advice to fellow moms

If there’s one thing that’s obvious with the moms of today, it’s that we are more discerning. When it comes to our babies and our kids, we want to make sure that we only give the best.

This is why we’re grateful for companies who have our baby’s health in mind. And we’re also grateful for the moms behind it, like our #TAPMAM mompreneur, Jasslyn Tan.

Jasslyn or Mommy Jass is the successful mompreneur behind Orange and Peach, a Filipino brand that aims to provide innovative products that will help moms nurture their babies better. Their product list includes a wide variety of baby care items, breastfeeding essentials and even home and nursery accessories.

Starting Orange and Peach

The company started in 2010, when Mommy Jasslyn was preparing to have her own family. She saw the gap in the market for high quality but affordable products that caters to the needs of young moms,

“As I was about to start a family, I wanted to be involved in an industry where I can have firsthand experience about the products that I will be using as a new and aspiring mom,” she shares. “I wanted to fill in the gap in the market by offering functional products to help moms nurture their babies better while at the same time, making it affordable and accessible.”

Even today when Orange and Peach has grown into a big brand, Mommy Jass is still very much involved in the process of developing their products. Her first customers? Her children. “Most of the products we have from Orange and Peach are born out of my own search for certain products that I needed for my kids.”

Having herself and her children as the first customers means their products have to pass their standards first before releasing them to the market.

Empowering other women

Orange and Peach also serve as a platform for Mommy Jass to educate other mothers on topics such as pregnancy, breastfeeding and childcare. This way, she can empower them to be more discerning about the products they choose for their kids.

Empowerment and education are two things this mompreneur is passionate about. She likes to impart knowledge whether thru academics or a simple sharing and gathering of minds.

She also wants to be involved in empowering women to be self-sufficient and to remain motivated and fulfilled in their own ways.

“A woman can wear many hats in one lifetime. Despite all the roles she will play, a woman for me must be compassionate, faithful, and loving. She must be confident and empowered to make decisions for herself and for her family.” she shares.

Her superpower and inspiration

Despite being a successful and empowered woman, Mommy Jass believes one person deserves credit for helping her achieve her dreams. “My greatest superpower or rather, my biggest blessing is my husband who supports and enables me to be who I am and to follow my dreams,” says the mompreneur.

Aside from her husband, she also draws strength and inspiration from her three children, Sophia, Liam and Theo. Her family’s well-being and happiness are the driving force for anything that she does.

“Motherhood for me is both a blessing and a huge responsibility entrusted by God to raise children who will be happy, loving, and good contributors to the society.”

Her success in her business, happy family life and passion for women empowerment makes Mommy Jass truly deserving to be on of our TAP MAMs honoree. But the humble mompreneur believes every woman, especially a mom, deserves to be recognized from time to time whether it be from an institution or simply thru a pat on the back from family and friends.

“When we are happy and fulfilled, we can do greater things,” she says.
