10 Ways to become a better spouse

Improve yourself as well as your marriage by following these 10 ways to become a better spouse!

1. Put your spouse first

Your spouse should always be the number 1 person in your life, and you need to consider their feelings and emotions whenever you make big decisions in your life. They’re as much a part of your life as you are a part of theirs, so make them a priority.

2. Help with the chores

Even if it’s your spouse’s turn to do the laundry, why not help them out with the chores? They’ll feel grateful, and they will also return the favor once it’s your turn.

3. Always be thoughtful

Thoughtfulness is important in your relationship. Surprise your spouse with their favorite dessert, even if there’s no occasion. Buy them a nice drink on your way home, etc. It’s these little things that can really make your spouse feel important and loved.

4. Give each other alone time

Sometimes, spending too much time together can make the relationship feel tired and boring. Spending time apart, or with your friends can help bring the spark back in your relationship.

5. Send thoughtful texts

If your spouse is at work, why not make their day better by sending them a thoughtful text? They’ll love the gesture, and it will motivate them to work even harder.

6. Have surprise dates

Surprise dates are wonderful, and your spouse will surely be excited at the thought of it!

7. Talk to each other

Sometimes couples spend time with each other, but they don’t really get to talk. Engage your spouse in conversation, talk about their day, their plans etc. Get to know what’s going on in your spouse’s life outside your home.

8. Compliment your spouse

Compliments are always welcome in a marriage. It makes your spouse feel loved, and it lets them know that you’re still attracted to them.

9. Know when to back down from a fight

Fights in a marriage are inevitable. However, you don’t always have to be the ‘winner’ in every fight. Know when to back down, and you’ll find that you’ll start fightning less.

10. Remember why you got married in the first place

Spend some time reminiscing about the past and remembering why you got married in the first place. It will help rekindle the romance in your relationship and serve as a reminder of why you chose to be with each other.
