The Lunar New Year heralds a new chapter of personal growth. As the Year of the Wood Snake arrives in 2025, Shangri-La Plaza gathers its community – from partner tenants to mall guests – in a celebration of exciting possibilities and transformative beginnings.
Unlocking Wisdom, Wealth & Wellness with a Feng Shui Talk
Launching its festivities with a small, more intimate affair with valued tenants and special guests, Shang helped in Unlocking Wisdom, Wealth & Wellness with a Feng Shui Talk by Venus Wang the seasoned real estate practitioner and Chinese metaphysics master.
Singapore-based Chinese metaphysics master Venus Wang gave practical advice on how to combat the fiery Year of the Snake
Wang shared valuable insights to event attendees on navigating the year with tips on ensuring that business ventures go as planned or careers continue on a good trajectory, making the right decisions, maintaining one’s health – be it physical, mental or emotional, and even some auspicious spaces around the home that can enhance luck for 2025. She also emphasized that this Lunar New Year is all about adaptability and growth, encouraging everyone to embrace the opportunities ahead by shedding “what no longer serves.”
“Patience, precision, and strategy are the greatest allies this transformative year. Trust in the quiet power of slow, steady growth with each purposeful step,” Wang suggested. “Move with intention. Embrace the unseen opportunities, and let your quiet resilience surprise the world. The path ahead is yours to shape—one thoughtful step at a time.”
Prosperity and Harmony: The Yee Sang Ceremony
Shang’s celebration included a prosperity toss called the Yee Sang Ceremony. Involving key executives and merchant partners, the toss was done to welcome abundance and harmony.
Shangri-La Plaza also held a very meaningful Yee Sang Ceremony with some of its partners. The prosperity toss symbolizes abundance and harmony, which reflects the mall’s strong and steady relationship with its tenants. Shang Properties Inc. EVP for Retail and Commercial Joy R. Polloso led the toss and was joined by Mabel Tacorda, Chief Financial Officer, Shang Properties, Inc.; Rajeev Garg, Vice President – Finance, Shang Properties, Inc.; Rose Morales, Senior Director for Group Sales with retail partners including Gingerlily owner Vivia Cua, Wholesome Table COO Ricardo Lo, Primer Group Vice President Dinah Yau Lim and Jamille Thai Lee, Rustan’s Store Manager Liezel Carpo-Enriquez and Assistant Manager Rey Cruz, Univers Area Manager Cathy Guiterrez and Milano & Slumberland’s Kendrik Ngo. .
Embracing Asian Heritage and Cultural Celebrations
Guests took home personalized fans with Chinese calligraphy.
Each of the partners and guests also received a hand painted fan featuring Chinese landscape paintings, personalized with their names by a calligraphy artist to mark the celebration.
Shangri-La Plaza’s Lunar New Year celebration included mesmerizing performances by the Filipino Chinese Theater Dance Company.
The Filipino Chinese Theater Dance Company put on quite the show with their fluid, graceful movements and captivating costumes. Both opening and closing the event, the group performed modern renditions of traditional dances such as the Chinese Fan Dance and the Dunhuang Dance.
Shang Executives and Merchant Partners welcomed the Year of the Snake.
“The Lunar New Year has always been a significant event here at Shangri-La Plaza, as a way to embrace our Asian heritage and elevate important cultural celebrations through thoughtfully curated activities,” Polloso shared. “With our theme ‘Transformative Beginnings,’ our Lunar New Year celebration is all about continuing to nurture our connections with our partners – both tenants and mall guests – and looking ahead to a year of purpose and possibilities.”
