WATCH: Man rudely discriminates against breastfeeding mom on a train

2 min read

The video begins at the height of one man’s tirade. The subject of his fit? A woman who just wanted to breastfeed her child while aboard a train in the London Underground.

He claims that it is making him uncomfortable while aggressively confronting her to the extent of asking her to switch carriages.

The man attempts to engage her in a heated argument. “Could you not express before you come on here?” he demands. “Just go onto another carriage. Irish people don’t expose themselves like this. Feed your baby before you come out.”

She tries to answer back several times but the man gets even more hostile as she tries to reason out.

Watching the video for the first time will make anyone cringe and wish someone on the crowded train car would stand up for her.

Thankfully, other passengers on the train eventually intervene and the argument becomes more intense.

After being shared on Facebook, this video rapidly went viral, garnering over 100,000 shares.

You will be relieved to know that this particular scene is staged as part of a relevant social experiment.

The viral video succeeds in its goal to shed light on the fact that things like this happen all the time, without the benefit of being documented on camera.

Here’s hoping this enlightens many men and women out there to respect the right of every woman to breastfeed their child whenever and wherever they see fit.
